Concept

Just a quick written form of what we're all thinking. This shows our idea in a little more detail telling us what exacts jobs the characters will have, locations and who is doing what. We plan to start very soon as we want to film in a bright setting and it wont be too long now before it starts getting dark by 4. These locations and storylines also give us some flexibility and freedom for filming (not like Heathrow last year).

This is just information for the 'present day' scenes - more will be added to this for the 'past' scenes where we're younger.
Also, just to clarify the 'past' will feature us as around 17/18 years of age and the 'present' scenes will perhaps be 19/20 years old. Being realistic we knew we couldn't show the present day scenes of us in our careers at 30 so we decided on the 'one day' perhaps being a time in the summer or a year or two ago.

One day baby, we'll be old

No more tears, my heart is dry
I don't laugh and I don't cry
I don't think about you all the time
But when I do – I wonder why

One day baby, we'll be old
Oh baby, we'll be old
And think of all the stories that we could have told

One day baby, we'll be old
Oh baby, we'll be old
Oh baby, we'll be old

One day baby, we'll be old
Oh baby, we'll be old

Pitch

Today we had a class pitch for all of our video ideas and songs. For our song 'My Number' we decided to go with an upbeat atmosphere for the video. Unfortunately we couldn't quite portray our group vision and the class wanted to hear our other options.

Showing our other option:

It is clear that people were more drawn to this song. So taking on board the ideas and thoughts of everyone else we too as a group have agreed on this song which we all initially liked.

Our class discussion helped us to think about our video ideas also, still keeping to the upbeat and feel-good theme of a video. The music video could be very similar to the video above however, we thought about adding the element of the present and the past.
The present featuring four main characters in dull jobs and the past showing the four characters together having fun and enjoying life to put it in short!

Video Ideas

Considering the upbeat song we've chosen we wanted to create a music video which would reflect the atmosphere of the music and lyrics.
We decided to put 'My Number' on full volume and say what came to our minds for video ideas. In a way this worked as it got us generating ideas and bouncing off of each others ideas.
Here are a few:

-Flashmob
-Oversize clown glasses
-Dancing
-Bouncy Castle
-Balloons
-Coloured Smoke
-Crowd

That's not to say all of these will necessarily be included in our video, and to be honest a lot of it probably wont make the cut seeing as we're known for chopping and changing our ideas quite often, but these give us an overall idea of what we're all thinking for video ideas.
Here are a few video which have also inspired us:

Cher Lloyd ft. Mike Posner - With Your Love

Lily Allen - The Fear

Disney Enchanted - That's How You Know

MEDIA SONG

During a free period today (before our scheduled team meeting) Sinead and I discussed possibilities for our media song which was basically just a game of tennis with bands, artists, songs, genres etc.
Here are just a couple of the songs we were contemplating:

Bastille - Bad Blood

Foals - My Number

* * * * *

And after our team meeting we've finally chosen our media song!

'My Number' - Foals is the chosen one and we're all excited to be doing this considering it ticks all the boxes of the song we would want to produce a music video for!
The high energy, feel-good, upbeat song gives us a great deal to play with in terms of camera shots, pace and the general creativity which would go into the music video.

Lucy actually suggested this song last lesson but in our state of music-overdosed minds, it was dismissed (like the 30 or so other songs which have been scrapped).

Ideas

It seems that at the moment, all four of us cannot seem to unanimously decide on a song but at least we're all still relatively on the same page in terms of the genre of the song.
We've had a few more suggestions and ideas today which consist of :

Rusted Root - Send Me On My Way

Asaf Avidan - One Day

Asaf Avi dan - One Day (Wankelmut Remix)

We seem to be more drawn to this version of this song as it gives us more to play with in terms of the beat and the ability to change shots often and get more creative.

This has been my favourite choice today but we're not entirely agreed on this as a group. I'm completely hopeful that we will find one song all four of us love so it's all a case of finding the right song and using the right amount of persuasion!

Ideas

As summer is now over, myself, Sinead, Rachel and Lucy have come together again to start formally deciding on our A2 song for our music video. We've had a few ideas bouncing off of each other and we all seem to be on the same page for the genre and theme of what we want to produce.
ideally, we want to create something relaxing, upbeat and feel-good, all we need is the perfect song to do this.

We've come up with a few possibilities listed below:

Natasha Bedingfield - 'Unwritten'

Corinne Bailey Ray - 'Put Your Records On'

Mika - 'Grace Kelly'

Ben King - 'Stand By Me'

We've also considered Amy Winehouse which at present would be 'Rehab.'
